Summer Institute 2008: Travel
Canadian and International residents note: You will need a passport to enter the US.
By Car:
Location: Highland Hall, Western Washington University, Bellingham, WA. WWU is about 1 hour, 30 minutes north of Seattle, WA, near Interstate 5. Click here for directions.

By Air:
WWU is about a one hour and 40 minute drive from Seatac (Seattle/Tacoma) Airport, depending on time of day and traffic. Allow considerably longer for travel time during peak hours.
The Airporter Shuttle runs a shuttle between Seatac and Bellingham several times a day and fares are posted on their site. The standard fare is $60 for a round trip or $34 one way. The closest stop to WWU is the Value Inn on Lakeway Drive. From there, you can catch a cab to Western which is about a mile from the Inn.
If you prefer to fly into Bellingham, Horizon Air (partner of Alaska Air) has a number of connections. A cab is the quickest way to travel from the Bellingham Airport to the University. Click here for a complete list of flights into and out of Bellingham airport.
By Train:
