at the Union College Regional Program, Schenectady, NY, 2003 |
The Institute conducts regular regional programs in various parts of North America. The workshops introduce the Institute’s in-depth study and practice program and the essential principles of the Core curriculum.

Program 1 studies the science of valid cognition through investigating portions of the Lorik, or “Classifications of Mind.” Participants examine how thoughts and perceptions work together to create mind and its world and how to differentiate between confusion and clear perception in their everyday experience. Program 2 investigates the nature of selflessness through studying the tenets of the two Hinayana philosophical systems, the Vaibhashika and Sautrantika.
These engaging and challenging programs are suited to newer students who want to lay a solid foundation for their path, and veteran practitioners who want to take their practice and studies to a deeper level. In addition, students who are thinking about attending the annual 9 Day or Summer programs can get a first-hand glimpse of the Institute at the Regional weekends.
