The goal of Nitartha Institute is to bring the full depth of the Kagyu and Nyingma Tibetan Buddhist teachings to students in the West. The Institute is a division of Nitartha international, which provides technological and educational resources to bring the living wisdom of the East to the world community.
Residential study programs have been the backbone of Nitartha since 1996. The Institute also engages in extensive translation and publication work and is partnering with Snow Lion Publications to produce a Nitartha Institute series of books. Many of the teachings from the Institute are offered in transcript form.
Nitartha’s model is the traditional Tibetan “shedra”, or monastic college, but the teachings are presented in English for the Western mind. The programs combine a systematic course of study with application in meditation. They offer an opportunity to engage in dharma studies and practice with a rare thoroughness and depth in the Western world. Teacher training, Tibetan translation and Health and Healing programs are all available at the Summer Institute.
Nitartha Institute is non-sectarian and seeks students from all traditions.
